Simi Valley Days!

It's that time again!

For 26 years, every September Simi Valley has hosted it's own festival to honor our beautiful community of Simi Valley! Formerly known as "Pioneer Days," as initiated by the United States Postmaster in 1933, its predecessor hosts a variety of events such as the Simi Valley Days parade, carnival, musical entertainment, chili cook off contest, BINGO, and a 5K/10K run. This is our community's opportunity to come together as well as support local businesses, organizations, fundraisers, and charities.

The festivities will kick off Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Rancho Simi Community Park with an early morning 5K/10K Run that will follow the designated parade route. The parade will begin at 9am and snake down Los Angeles Avenue between Erringer and Sinaloa Roads. The carnival will take place at Rancho Simi Community Park on the grass (YEAH! NO MORE DUST!) every Wednesday and Thursday from noon - 9pm and Friday - Sunday, noon - 11pm until September 19th. Overflow parking will be offered at Royal High School.

Mayor Paul Miller will be retiring from 42 years of service at the Simi Valley Days parade on Saturday. Paul is the Grand Marshall of the parade, so, please, go by and give him a big "thank you" for his many years of service.

This all couldn't be possible without the continued support from the community, so, get out with your families and friends to have a great time with all the festivities this upcoming week!
