National Pay It Forward Day!

December 1st is National Pay It Forward Day.

As we all know, things are rough for everyone everywhere. Why not brighten someone's day - for no reason at all - without expecting something in return? Simi Valley, we challenge you to Pay It Forward on December 1st! Go out and do a random act of kindness without expecting anything in return.

Some suggestions on how you can "Pay It Forward":

• Donate some clothing to a local shelter or organization.
• Collect all your "freebies" from hotels and dentists and donate THOSE items to homeless shelters.
• Collect cans and non-perishable foods to donate to a local food bank.
• Send a card or note of thanks to a soldier in Afghanistan.
• Give a card or note of thanks to a community or state employee.
• Buy a train or bus ticket for someone you see riding to work everyday.
• At the local coffee shop: buy the person in line behind you HIS daily cup o' joe!
• Leave flowers or a stuffed animal for a random person who's at the hospital.
• Instead of making the bag boy do it, help someone take their groceries to their car.
• Offer your professional services FREE for the day.
• Offer to carpool for a busy mom.
• Pay someone a special compliment.
• While mowing your lawn, mow your neighbor's lawn, too!
