Pioneers poised to kick off 2010 football season

The Pioneers’ efforts to redeem their poor 2009 standings starts tonight.

Simi Valley High’s football home opener for the 2010 season starts at 7 p.m. at home against Golden Valley.

The Pioneers posted a 1-9 overall record last year. Their singular win was against  Calabasas at 28-14.

Golden Valley's overall record for 2009 was 0-10.

Simi Valley’s nine game Marmonte League schedule begins Sept. 16 at Agoura. The much anticipated rivalry, Royal - Simi game, which typically is held at the end of the year, falls during midseason, on Oct. 15, at Simi Valley's newly renovated home field.
